Included among the courses planned for this year are: Search Skills, Search Management, Ropes and technical training (including patient packaging and rappelling), Wilderness Preparedness/Survival, K9 classes including Selecting the Working dog, Order of Training for New SAR Dogs, Scent Theory, plus lots of field time.

SAREX this year will take place from noon on Friday, May 21 – noon Sunday, May 23 (classes subject to change at instructor’s discretion).

This year SAREX will be located at the Little Grassy Boy Scout Camp, just south of Carbondale, IL on Little Grassy Lake.

There will be cabin camping and tent camping for all those wishing to “ruff” it, however due to the “off season” showers will not be available. But if we can deal with the dogs, I’m sure we can deal with you! J For those who wish to have more civilized amenities, motels are within an easy drive in Carbondale.

Instructors this year will, as of now, include Anthony Marzano, Jeff Decker and Bill Dotson.
